FERPA Statement

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”), section 444 of the General Education Provision Act, dictates when and how an educational institution may disclose personally identifiable information of students in the United States.

Project Greater Ed is not considered an “Educational Institution” nor a “School Official” as per the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (“FERPA”), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g. Project Greater Ed is an independent third-party organization that does not receive any personally identifiable information directly from any educational institution. When registering an account on projectgreatered.com, an eligible student, parent, or guardian themselves supply “directory” information such as the student’s name and an email address of their choosing, and agree to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. As such, FERPA is not implicated.
